It’s a month and a half to my birthday. I feel like I’ve been through a lot of great personal experiences this past year, and I feel like I’m my best ever now. WOW. That’s just crazy to say. I’m so much happier, stronger, and more confident than I’ve ever been. And I am just realizing it now.
I think a huge part of my personal growth was in fighting my psoriasis. I’ve been seeing a lot of stir in the media about this disease so if you’re wondering why I’m blogging about it so much now, that’s why. Anyway, last year, I remember having to cake on make up on my legs to cover up my psoriasis. I remember being so grateful that my birthday party was taking place in a dim lit club so hopefully no one would get a good look at my legs. Before the disease, I never thought I would ever have to worry about my skin. I took my flawless skin for granted. I could go forever without lotion and my skin still never looked dry. Now I’m popping vitamin Es like an addict and obsessively slathering on lotion every day. It’s what ya should do, really. You never know how good you had something until it dwindles away. So when I finally got my psoriasis down to barely noticeable, I flaunted what I got.
Now this birthday, I’m break out free and I can’t wait to feel 100% comfortable in my skin. I just am so pleased and blessed, because there was a time I didn’t think it would get better. But it did! Just shows you should never give up hope.
